Products Liability and Mass Tort Litigation

The range of our product liability litigation experience is significant and extensive, in many cases involving litigation and trials nationwide for Fortune 500 companies. We have been involved in cases alleging design defects, metallurgical failure and fatigue, manufacturing defects and component failure in a variety of products including, natural gas valves, steel track cable, ladders, railroad cars, paint sprayers, aircraft parts and components, herbicides, air supplied breathing devices, floor tile and commercial pipe covering and block.

We have been instrumental in developing and implementing defenses involving the industrial hygiene environment as it existed decades ago in steel plants, glass manufacturing facilities, tire plants, major construction sites and shipyard facilities. In addition, we have been called upon to identify and develop “state of the art” medical, industrial hygiene and technical defenses and experts. Some of our manufacturing clients used asbestos in products they made in the 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s. This use of asbestos exposed them to litigation and trials throughout the U. S. where we acted as lead trial counsel or co-counsel. The trial of one of these mass tort cases involved 12,000 + plaintiffs in one of the most hostile jurisdictions in the country.
